Since the introduction of the exhaust emission regulations of 1993, all U.K. specification type vehicles were designed to operate a fuel injection system, controlled by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
The ECU controls many sensors throughout your vehicle, including safety features like ABS Braking Systems, Air Bag and Seatbelt Restraints and in later vehicles, items such as the Electric Window and Satellite Navigation Systems. From time to time these sensors, switches and control modules can suffer from faults and system failures.
Due to the complexity of the electronic structure of these systems the use of a computerised diagnostic scanner is required to assist with the location of the fault by retrieving any recorded data within the ECU system. On some occasions you may see a lamp or message illuminated within the dashboards display, but this is not always the case and some vehicles use more complex systems.
Our staff members are able to carry out diagnostic testing on most makes of vehicle to retrieve information recorded within the vehicles ECU. This information can then assist us in our investigation into the probable cause of the fault and allowing for a suitable repair to be carried out.SELECT YOUR VEHICLE BELOW
